Concert opens with the Overture to Mozart¡¯s opera, The Marriage of Figaro. Then, the virtuosic violinist Tianwa Yang stands on the KBSSO¡¯s stage to play Lalo¡¯s Symphonie espagnole, a festive work full of lavish rhythm and buoyant dance music. Finally, Schubert¡¯s Symphony No. 9, ¡°The Great,¡± conducted by Principal Guest Conductor Sung Kwak, closes the evening. Schubert¡¯s Ninth is his final and the most expansive symphony: from the stately opening melody played by the two horns to florid melodies that abound throughout the symphony, and to magnificent orchestral sound, the Great C Major is the quintessential Schubert symphony.</font></div></font> <div align="left"><br /></div></div>
