Explore the world of neoromanticism with the Flute Concerto (1993) by the twentieth-century American composer Christopher Rouse and Symphony No. 3 by Anton Bruckner, one of the last composers of the Austro-German Romantic tradition. Rouse¡¯s Flute Concerto is marked by its expansive use of the expressive qualities of the flute, as well as its unusual use of the percussion. Internationally acclaimed flutist Jasmine Choi plays this enthralling Concerto. Bruckner¡¯s Symphony No. 3 is outspokenly Wagnerian in its conception. The brilliance of the brass juxtaposed with the velvety sound of the strings will create many unforgettable musical moments.
