Highly qualified and passionate applicants will be invited to 2014 KBS Symphony Orchestra Audition. This time we are open total 6 positions: the position of Violin Tutti(2), Viola Principal, Horn Associate Principal, Trombone Principal and Tuba.
1. Positions
- Violin(1) : Tutti(2) *
- Viola(1) : Principal(1)
- Horn(1) : Associate Principal(1)
- Trombone(1) : Principal(1)
- Tuba(1)*
* One more violin tutti and tuba position are added on 25th of September.
These positions' audition procedure are the same of other 4 positions.
2. Qualification for application:
- Applicants should meet the standard of the regulation of the KBS Symphony Orchestra.
- Applicants should be qualified upon broadcasting regulations.
- Korean male applicants should have completed their military service or public service that corresponds to the national obligation.
¡Ø Applicants who were exempted from military service can apply.
¡Ø The applicants who are in the military service must be discharged from military service until 31 December, 2014.
3. Application Procedure
(1) Application Submitting Period: October 1st (Wed) May 20th(Mon) (until 18:00) (¡Ø All time criteria is based on KOREAN STANDARD TIME, GMT +9)

¨ For Foreign Applicants who does not have Korean Government approved ID Number: Download Application form at KBS Symphony Orchestra website www.kbssymphony.org (Available from October 1st)*Koreans and Korean-Americans should submit the on-line application on the website.
¨ Submit application form by e-mail (audition@kbssymphony.org ) and please send e-mail with ¡°Position_Name¡± title by deadline (October 20th18:00). Ex)Violin Tutti _Hong Gildong
¨ Recorded DVD should be mailed by deadline at following address:
¡Ø Address: 13, Yeouigongwon-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, 150-790, Korea
¡Ø Deadline: October 20th, 2014, 6PM(KOREAN STANDARD TIME, GMT +9)
¡Ø 1st Round material Form: DVD with audio and video
¡Ø Audition repertoire and direction can refer ¡°Audition Repertoire List¡±.

¡Ø Additional Papers (within applicants who pass 2nd Round(DVD Screening))
- The certificates which verify their college graduation and the highest level of
schooling which they have completed.
(the certificates must be authenticated by embassy or notarization)
- Relevant certificates which verify their career.
- The certificate of authentication which government publishes for identification.

4. Audition Schedule
(1) 1stRound |DVD screening (Date will be announced after the deadline)
- Concerto and Orchestral Excerpts
- No Accompanist is necessary for both concerto and excerpts.
- 1st Round result will be individually noticed by phone and e-mail.
(2) 2nd Round |November 22nd (Sat)
- Place: the KBS Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal room
- No Accompanist is necessary for both concerto and excerpts.
- 2nd Round result will be individually noticed by phone and e-mail.
(3) Interview: November 24th (Mon)
(4) Employment Begin: January 1st(Thu)

¡Ø The above schedule can be changed with notice.

5. Employment
- Final successful candidates will work as trainees for 1 year, and there will be a final screening at the end of the probationary period.
- Applicants who pass this screening will be treated upon the regulation of the KBS Symphony Orchestra and compensation, services and benefits will be applied to KBS Symphony Orchestra regulation.
6. Other details
- The Audition Committee of KBS Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to dismiss any candidate not meeting the highest stands at this audition.
- Even for chosen candidates, his/her acceptance will be canceled if he/she fails the physical examination for employment or if any ineligibility reason is found.
- Submitted documents and videos will not be returned to applicants.
- Music scores will be forwarded by e-mail ONLY at applicant¡s request.
- All notices will be delivered by SMS or E-mail. So applicants must make sure they write their correct information in the application.
