2026 KBS Symphony Orchestra Audition Announcement

 

This announcement is for foreign candidates

 

The KBS Symphony Orchestra announces the following vacancies.

 

1. Instrument & Position

2. Qualification

    1) A bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma for the applying instrument

    2) Should be free from all national/military obligations(supporting documentation necessary). If currently in military service, must be discharged before joining the orchestra.

 

3. Application Deadline & Application Form: KOREA Standard Time is applied for Time Criteria

    1) Application Submission Period

         A. Flute, Clarinet : January 19(Mon), 2026 ∼ February 4(Wed), 2026 18:00

         B. Trombone : Junuary 19(Mon), 2026 ~ March 1(Sun), 2026 18:00

    2) The KBS Symphony Orchestra Application Form : to be download on this announcement.

  ※ ONLY applications submitted using the KBS Symphony Orchestra’s designated form will be accepted. 

        Any other submissions, CVs or resumes not using the designated form will NOT be considered official and will be disregarded without notice.

 

4. Audition Information

    1) Audition Repertoire: to be downloaded from the KBS Symphony Orchestra Website

    2) Orchestral excerpts: will be sent upon request. / Email : kbssoaudition@gmail.com

    3) Piano accompanist is NOT necessary and the KBS Symphony Orchestra tunes to 442Hz.

    4) LIVE AUDITIONS will be held in Seoul, Korea.      

         ※ Venue: KBS Symphony Orchestra Rehearsal Studio (13, Yeouigongwon-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul)

    5) Audition Schedule

    ※ The details of 1st round live schedule will be notified after application deadline.

    ※ The audition schedules are subject to change with notice.

 

5. Interview Stage : Schedule coordination will be conducted only for candidates who pass the second-round audition.

    1) The candidates must provide with the educational and career history documents (Including military obligation).

    2) College graduation and the highest level schooling certificates must be authenticated by the embassy’s notarization.

 

6. The employment medical check-up will be conducted only for candidates who pass the interview, after coordinating the schedule.

 

7. Expected employment starting date:

    1) Flute, Clarinet : in April, 2026

    2) Trombone : in May, 2026

 

8. Employment

    1) The successful candidate will be subject to a one-year probationary period after employment, 

         during which a separate evaluation will be conducted to determine appointment or termination before the end of the period.

    2) The salary, compensation, services, benefits terms and conditions will be applied to the regulation of the KBS Symphony Orchestra.

    3) The employment medical check-up visit to the KBS Symphony Orchestra’s designated medical center is mandatory.

    4) Offered positions are contingent upon the winning candidates’ ability to obtain proper work authorization making them eligible to work for the KBS Symphony Orchestra.

    5) The employment offer will be cancelled if the candidate(s) fail to meet employment physical examination regulation and/or any ineligibility conditions are found out.

 

9. Other

    1) The Audition Committee and the jury reserves the right, depending on the results of the auditions, to not fill the vacant position(s).

    2) Applicants are responsible for all audition-related expenses, including travel, accommodation, and instrument renting/shipping.

    3) Upon receipt of an application from an applicant, it is assumed that all the descriptions and precautions in this announcement is understood.
